Baroque - Force (FRK004)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere "Force" by Japanese artist Baroque. Brazilian label Forkha returns with a massive body techno release including 6 tracks from Baroque and Notausgang.

"Body Resistance is about the force that prevents you from following the masses, that resists, that rebels. Your rigid, untouchable body is in a test, an experiment. Your mind is analyzed, your actions are discarded. Some want to dismember your body, invade your mind to settle their flags. It's the race to possess your life. They will implode."

The release is out digitally + cassette January 11th on Bandcamp.

LIEBCHEN - Embrace My Blood *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from LIEBCHEN. “Embrace My Blood” is the final single off the Daemon EP, a collaboration with Vasilis Angelopoulos. The Athens-based project of vocalist/performer Hawk Stigmata, LIEBCHEN is a dark electronics hybrid that infuses sounds from across the post-punk, body, wave and industrial spectrums to create a menacing tracks and high intensity performances. We premiered the artist’s debut video back in March and now we are thrilled to present this excellent clip filmed at Temple Athens.

Currently LIEBCHEN is working with a new team of electronic musicians on his debut album release and we are very much looking forward to that.

New Brvtalism No. 261 - DRIADA

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from DRIADA. The composer and singer-songwriter from Moscow, also runs the label and event series Routine Records. Starting as a live multi-instrument and singer under the name Alexandra Pride, soon the artist started to produce electronic music under the new name DRIADA, releasing her debut album «Obolochka» which attracted the attention of numerous filmmakers and TV producers. Now, Alexandra films bizarre music videos and creates sound-design for Russian museums of contemporary art. In her music, folk fairy tales meets heavy beats and cyberpunk ambience.

For her New Brvtalism submission, DRIADA recorded her favorite music that she listens to on daily basis, moving away a bit from what is known as her style. At the beginning though, DRIADA records a little sample of her own voice as she always does in mixes. We are thrilled to host this hour of body, wave and techno explorations from one of our favorite artists.

Thanks to everyone who supported New Brvtalism this year. It is our 6th straight year of doing mixes and we are excited for what 2021 will bring!

New Brvtalism No. 260 - The Dag

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from The Dag. The Berlin based DJ and producer, via the Philippines, makes intense and explosive music using elements of techno, industrial, noise, and, occasionally, trance. While she doesn’t restrict herself to a specific BPM or genre, she hopes to invoke cathartic feelings in her listeners with her powerful sound. We are ecstatic to host this absolutely punishing mix of her crushing sound.

PC World - Order (Physical Wash Remix) (SLK014)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track by PC World. The South London duo comes through with a haunting EP on She Lost Kontrol to distort the view and warp the vision of industrial addicts and mutant punks with their second release “Order”, a discursive counterattack on four distinct forms of command.

B-side remixes of the title track “Order” come from Physical Wash (former member of High-Functioning Flesh) and Aktion Mutante (featuring members of Violent Poison and Unhuman), two additional perversions of protocol from synth-punk veterans on both sides of the Atlantic. So initiate these six cries of havoc in solidarity with this wasted world, a world of precarious necessity and incessant definition. A world whose shape and conscience will forever be satisfied by order.

The release is out digitally + vinyl February 8th on Bandcamp.

Velvet Velour - Join The Ride (Swiss Dark Nights)

The Brvtalist is pleased to present the new music video for “Join The Ride” by Velvet Velour . The solo project of Russian synthwave diva Valeria Valuyskaya who has been at the edge of Moscow underground music scene for last 8 years as the deejay, founder of Dark Matter nights, long-time Powerhouse Moscow club & studio producer and the singer with college degree in jazz vocals.

Her debut EP «Pleiades» which was released at Swiss Dark Nights label, finds analog synths devotee Valeria following through in the blueprint of dark electropop and coldwave, offering a set of retro-futuristic middle tempo, gloomy and occasionally seductive danceable songs created with a tangible focus on the vocal melody. Velvet Velour isn’t as complex and narcissistic as Grimes and has a more traditionally pretty voice than Emika, which helps distinguish the artist from the legions of noir-pop and retrowave acts. It’s an intriguing listen from a promising singer – and a perfect soundtrack for dark and weird future we are already blade-running in.

The release is out now on Bandcamp.
