The Brvtalist Premieres: Halv Drøm - Psyops (Fleisch)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Halv Drøm. The Berlin-based artist and Fleisch co-founder is back on his resident label with a debut LP titled Slum Vatic. Not constrained to any genres but still operating in a dance floor-driven universe, Halv Drøm takes on industrial, body and more all awash in a dystopian haze of post-punk guitars and field recordings from the beyond. Today we present, “Psyops”, which is probably my favorite track on the release and leaves you with a bitter sweet sense of nostalgia but with a strong desire to want more. Ultimately, Slum Vatic represents some of the artist’s best work to date.

Out August 31st, 2020 on 12” and digital. Pre-order yours now on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Militiā - Heaven in Hell (SXCALA)

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new track from Militiā. “Heaven In Hell” is a full techno assault, which comes off the new EP, Demand For Pleasure, out today on SXCALA. For this one, the UK project delivers five tracks of pummeling industrial, seething techno and even some broken beat for another excellent EP. “Heaven In Hell” is an aggressive menacing work with a crushing sound and evil vocals which elevates the work to new levels of sinister. Militiā has become a favorite project as of late and hits all the right notes of genre bending, socio-political infused chaos.

New Brvtalism No. 239 - Hexual Sarassment

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Hexual Sarassment. The project of Oguz Gulcenbay, better known as DJ and producer OGUZ, and Jasper Seidel, an artist who broadly experiments with all kinds of musical techniques, they both didn’t want to produce hard rave/trance music that is just for making you sweat. The duo seeks to play on your feelings, stand for a movement and bring music with a story and a real sound - hard metal infused industrial techno that is not about negativity. They focus on delivering a positive message against a society driven by toxic masculinity and speak up to a world in social decay.

New Brvtalism No. 239 shows the full power of Hexual Sarassment. Erupting from industrial, metal, techno and more, this is a truly punishing set from one of our favorite projects right now. Stay tuned for more from these guys on Brvtalist Sound Recordings later this year.

Torn Relics - When The World Could Not Sleep (Loose Lips Compilation)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Torn Relics. The London-based duo contributes “When The World Could Not Sleep”, a powerful, meditative piece which comes off the new v/a compilation from Loose Lips. The organization brings together a range of artists from across the world who they’ve connected with throughout the last 6 years of the LL journey.

The wide range of music chosen echoes LL’s passion for unique music from all horizons. From raucous sound system music of many forms through to pertinent poetry, crazy industrial experiments, chilling ambience and eccentric breakbeats. Given the compilations diversity, LL has separated the v/a into volumes, with Vol. 1 covering more dance floor friendly sounds and Vol. 2 being more experimental.

Further, proceeds from this release will aid be donated to the Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation. Grime pioneers Rapid and Slix (Prince Owusu-Agyekum and Ebenezer Ayerh) started this foundation in 2017 in order to help create opportunities for young people who have incredible talent but who are from a less advantaged background, thus potentially not having the chances to develop their skills to the fullest.

Having been inspired by the sounds that spawned from Ruff Sqwad, other Grime originals, and so many other resulting waves of UK music, it was so energizing to find out more about this amazing work that has evolved from it. They approach education and collaboration in an incredibly genuine and musically apt way - creating a bridge between grassroots ethics and industry ambition.

The Brvtalist Premieres: obwigszyh - phate188 (EXILES)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from obwigszyh. “phate188” comes off the Hungarian artist’s new album, Personal Data, out today on Budapest-based label EXILES. The album is a tremendous work of ambient and left field techno experimentations which was created during isolation. In addition, each track comes with its own artwork and the narrative told by the artists represents different focal points of time and space. “phate188” is a transcendent piece of futuristic electronics that sounds like a soundtrack to another time. From the artist:

The tracks on the album are focal points of my period of isolation, which I spent in Esztergom. Personal Data is the result of two months in which I had very low amounts of musical stimulus and human interaction. Physically, almost nothing. In addition to the energy and mood fluctuations of the material, abstract and rhythmic themes alternate each other.

Personal Data is out July 17th, 2020 on CD and digital formats. Get yours now on Bandcamp.
