The Brvtalist is pleased to host The Future Of Cyberpunk, an online conference by Verónica Mota Galindo (aka Especta Negra). Originally aired on November 27th at the TTT2020 Conference: TABOO - TRANSGRESSION - TRANSCENDENCE in Art & Science curated by the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria.
The conference focuses on the history and ideas of Cyberpunk covering literature, film and critical written content that gave birth to an underground movement against Capitalism, Authority, Exploitation, Progress and the hegemonic & distorted use of Technology. What is Cyberpunk? Where does Cyberpunk come from? Which ideas does it hold? What is the relationship between Cyberpunk and Feminism? Is there a future or are we totally doomed? Come and enjoy a short immersion in the world of Cyberpunk. Also experience a recent Especta Negra cyberpunk DJ set for Mutant Transmissions (below).
This is a current research project which Verónica Mota Galindo will develop and expand operating as Espectra Negra into written text including experimental photomontage in zine/magazine format and as a solo album in 2021. Based in Berlin, Galindo is a writer, sound artist, musician, body art performer, activist and teacher.
