The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the full EP visual trip of No Label's "CYBERPADANIA II". An accompanient to the new EP, this visual work was made in a similar way to the CYBERPADANIA one. The entire visuals are envisioned through a VR headset given by No Label to a boy stuck to a wall in a typical northern Italian urban landscape. This was to represent the fact that our generation and society nowadays are somehow incapable of disconnecting themselves from the internet (where is the border between real and digital? Are we somehow trapped in the digital world? Are we somehow living like that boy stuck to the wall without noticing?). The idea of sticking someone to a wall was inspired by the famous art work by Maurizio Cattelan (fun fact: he was born and raised in Padova like No Label), in which he stuck a curator to a wall (photo HERE - he however wanted to express a completely different concept).
The video was made by Matia Chiodo and Lorenzo Vai (aka Loraw).
The visuals represent various themes connected to the CYBERPADANIA world:
The visuals of SUCESSO feature distorted "uncanny valley style" found footage from controversial figures of the 00s Berlusconi/Mediaset group (Lele Mora and Fabrizio Corona). The idea was to express the distorted world of success and VIPs of the Milan nightlife through AI-monstrous-like distortions made to the features of this well known controversial people.
The visuals of UROBORO feature some "rhythmic" demolitions: Padania is a very industrial region and we wanted to do a basic tribute to all the concrete we see everyday.
The visuals of CROCIATE FINANZIARIE feature some AI-generated crusaders and armenian-style dances. This track features a vocal sample from a youtube video I found from a very animate amateur financial advisor, classical youtube scams. The track is a sort of distorted meme-like interpretation of this sample: I think nowadays money is literally the new religion of our society, so I liked the idea of the name "crociate finanziarie" which literally means "financial crusades". We immolate ourselves for money like in medieval times crusaders immolated theirselves for God, or something like that. It's a crazy parallelism, but I think it's somehow true.
The visuals of DIAMANTI GREZZI feature some basic AI-generated distorted high-class watches and diamonds seen in a drunk-style video. These watches don't even appear real, it's like you're watching them drunk. The idea behind this video is similar to the successo one, touching the theme of the distorted world of success and high-class nightlife.
