The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Kunitsa. "Testigo Modesto" is the Spanish artist's first single following her self-titled EP. She continues to explore a territory somewhere between witch house, post-punk, synthpunk and darkwave. The track is built around saturated vocals and bass, powerful kicks, repetition, and a strong emphasis on low frequencies.

Behind the project is Asturian artist Marta Sánchez Viejo, formerly a member of Hickeys, who, influenced by acts such as CRIM3S and White Ring, draws on elements of the witch house sound and brings them into a contemporary context and into Spanish. Testigo modesto continues Kunitsa’s attempt to recover and rework witch house while distancing itself from a nostalgic reproduction of the genre, blending it instead with elements of post-punk, synthpunk and darkwave.

The track was produced by Adrián Bremner (VVV [Trippin’you]) and mixed by Alejandro Leiva (Bum Motion Club), whose work reinforces the dark, saturated character that runs through Kunitsa’s sound. The video closely reflects the project’s visual dimension: image saturation and a punk-inspired aesthetic visually reinforce the chaotic, violent and dark character and intent of the song.
