Futures We Lost - Screen Memory *Video Premiere*

⚠️ CONTENT WARNING - Contains flashing visuals from 06:00 onwards. May trigger photosensitive epilepsy.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Futures We Lost. "Screen Memory" drifts through undulating, dreamlike textures, subtly eroded by a restless undercurrent, before collapsing into a fractured final act — a cinematic reflection on how memory distorts, fragments, and ultimately tears apart...

The final track from the debut self-titled album, "Screen Memory" explores the way memories shift and distort over time—how they blur, fragment, and become almost hallucinatory. Taking its title from Freud’s theory of disguised childhood memories, the track drifts through dreamy, haunted textures: vinyl crackle, warped tape, and slow-building waves of sound. A blend of dark ambient, hauntronica and witch house, this is music for forgotten places and fading thoughts.

The video was filmed and produced by Gwen Osmond, capturing eerie and ethereal scenes across north-west England and Wales: Holy Island and Cemaes Bay (Anglesey), Formby Beach (Merseyside), Entwistle Reservoir, and Tandle Hill Woods (Lancashire).

FUTURES WE LOST is the self-titled album which explores the concept of multiple ‘futures’ and how these past future visions and ideals died and now continue to haunt us as the living dead! Rising from the ashes of 2020 grief and inspired by the artist’s ancestral history in the surrounding crumbling mills and industrial scars of the northern English landscape; the album explores the post-industrial graveyards and future visions based on our present world of neo technological horrors. This 12-track journey delves into the impact on our collective cultural psyche from mechanised slavery and toxic governmentally induced paranoia to the distortion and living death of our dreams....

The track and album available to download AND on limited edition high-bias cassette tape with fold out J-card:
