The Brvtalist is proud to premiere a new track from Duncan Macdonald. “Consciousness” comes off the new collab EP between Macdonald and JohannesK titled, Existense Is Absurd, which also marks the first release on Berlin’s LowEnd imprint. With a focus on hypnotic but driving techno, the release features two tracks each from the label founders. Respectively the 2 artists have released on labels such as Key Vinyl, Hayes, ARTS, Krill and more and have built a reputation for powerful, complex productions.
For their first collab EP, Existense Is Absurd, we get two originals from each artist - taking us on an odyssey though driving, hypnotic and trippy techno. Tracks that are ready for the dance floor and to get lost in a meditative session. Today we premiere, “Consciousness”, one of Macdonald’s tracks which kicks off the EP perfectly with its driving, relentless energy and pulsating charges. Track 2, “Cyclopes” is also from Macdonald and he keeps the same energy but switches gears to a blackened, haunting atmosphere, seething with hard hitting emotion.
That leaves JohannesK on the final two tracks. His first is, “Applied Force” which is a crushing, tension builder which slowly but surely encapsulates the listener into its cinematic environment. And finally the artist closes out the EP with Time, the perfect closer which is a mesmerising piece which carries us off into an unknown oblivion.
Existense Is Absurd showcases Macdonald’s and JohannesK’s pristine productions while also launching us into a hypnotic world of absurdity, reality and something that falls in between. It’s a refreshing release with a dance floor focus mixed with a statement that resonates loudly in the present age.
The EP is out on June 3rd on 12” vinyl with download code + poster. Get yours now at: https://lnk.to/LOWEND001
