PREMIERE: Dungeon Dogs - A Forest (The Cure cover)

The Brvtalist is pleased to present Dungeon Dogs’ cover of the goth anthem, “A Forest”. Originally written by The Cure, it takes the listener on a new heart-pounding, syn-thillating journey into the heart and mind of Dungeon Dogs. Think haunting vocals in the vein of Nick Cave and I Wanna Be Your Dog-era Iggy Pop with a blend of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game.

Respecting the integrity of the original version, Dungeon Dogs’ cover is a refreshingly new and extended take on its source material. The lush, aural atmosphere will envelope you with shining reverberations of warm and fuzzy synthesizer waves. While the beat reflects the original from The Cure, new offerings in rhythm and sonic explorations emerge.

“This being my favorite song by The Cure, I always wanted it to go on twice as long. Often finding myself just keeping this song on repeat. So I performed a version of it where the song wavers and explores a little bit more, similar to how The Cure plays A Forest live.” - Nick Filth aka Dungeon Dogs.

This is an exceptional release and we look forward to more. Pick up here now.

New Brvtalism No. 269 - Hybral

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Hybral. The Berlin-based non-binary producer and DJ emerged in the city’s underground scene at the beginning of last year and quickly became known for their dark driving and hard hitting rough industrial sounds as well as the intertwining of left politics and techno. In this mix, Hybral focuses on productions that are outstanding for their sound design, putting together their favorite producers in the field of industrial techno, this selection is an intense journey through the darkest corners of your mind, being lost in obsessive rhythms, crooked ambiences and crushing kicks.

Hybral is also the founder of Subverted, a queer feminist podcast series that aims to support and create visibility for flint* djs as well as flint* producers. You can find a great list of flint* producers HERE.

VEIL OF LIGHT - Love And Money (Official Video)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the new music video for “Love And Money” from Zurich’s VEIL OF LIGHT. After two years since they released the excellent album Inflict LP, the band returns to AVANT Records! with another impressive release, Landslide.

Their fifth full-length and definitely their most complex album features ten new songs finding the perfect balance between the Coldwave intimate atmosphere and synthpop catchy melodies, creating a new sense of emotional intimacy with their profound innermost lyrics. Musically speaking The Swiss duo draws their influences right in between New Order’s moodiness and The Klinik, trying one softer, less brutal approach to their Electro.

This is the kind of record that takes its time, and takes its toll, we just need to sit down and listen because there's much to discover.

Out April 2nd on digital format + vinyl, Pre-order here.
