Chlär - Without Prejudice (DURCH)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Chlär. One of our favorite artists at the moment, he’s been on a tear as of late with some of the best productions and mixes going. He now lands on DURCH, a queer collective operating in Tel Aviv and Berlin which aims to bring queer people together, building a culture of inclusion, diversity and tolerance. The collective organizes parties, art and community events and are now set to release their first digital non-profit v/a compilation, SOLIDARITY001. They’ve assembled an all-star cast of artists who all represent their sound ranging from hardcore, techno, 90’s acid and more. Today we premiere Chlär’s “Without Prejudice” which fuses techno, trance, nostalgia and more at break neck speed for a true futuristic banger.

SOLIDARITY001 is out March 5th and you can support by visiting Bandcamp. All proceed go to Triq and Casa Kuä.

Max Dahlhaus - Electric Lahar *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere the new music video for “Electric Lahar” by Max Dahlhaus. The Berlin based artist releases the excellent album Short Morrow, which is the perfect soundtrack for a dystopian world. The atmosphere shifts from experimental to rather clubby, and back to sentimental in a blink of an eye. Sometimes it might give you the feeling of being lost, while the next track gives you a feeling of being hunted. His latest album on Infinite Machine is not only a view on life at the moment through the artist’s eyes, but a shout-out to everyone who is listening to see that change is inevitable.

Max’s third album is a collection of thoughts on society and the way we navigate this digitalized world while being observed by technology every step of the way.

Regarding the creative process, the artist recorded many sounds on the empty streets of Berlin during quarantine in 2020. He says that even with very few people outside, all the surrounding energy of what humans are was still there.

His wanderings through the streets of his city took him to experience places that usually were filled with life and motion from a completely new perspective. "I had time to think about all the years that had passed and explore what I felt in exactly that moment. 'Short Morrow' represents my inner dialogue about different aspects of our digitally connected society and the life around it.", Max recalls and explains that "Electro magnetic fields are not visible, but they are recordable. For days I collected those sounds during the first lock down in the empty streets of the usually so quirky streets of Berlin."

The sound of the omnipresent electromagnetic waves in our life trails thought the whole album and gives it a dystopian undertone, which makes ‘Short Morrow’ an eyewitness record of the here and now, but also a tale of a possible near future.

All drone shots from the video are filmed by Philipp Stelzner in Iceland, Norway and New Zealand.

Out March 26th on Bandcamp. Pre-order here now!

Keepsakes - Oblivious Civics (HAVEN)

The comp also finds label regulars New Frames and Ayarcana plus introduces Barcelona’s Surit (NX1) into the mix for the first time. As usual, expect speaker destroying techno, industrial and rave strains that take the genres outside of the box for a fresh approach that the label has become known for over the past few years. Teatre - Bastion *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new music video from Teatre. Lux Rec starts the year with a great release by the Lithuanian artist, out February 12th on digital format + vinyl. "Vociferate" features six tracks which span from powerful, vital straightness to brooding resonant laments. "Bastion" is a slow paced compelling track with dirty textures and an infectious lead, creating a tense atmosphere.

"This record would not have been possible without Ernestas Sadau, Roman Sputnik, Kęstutis Lingys and Eivydas Kantautas of Digital Tsunami. Nor without Kotryna Lingienė, who helped us finding and contacting Paulius Lileikis (the photographer), and Paulius, that granted us the permission to use the picture on the front cover."

New Brvtalism No. 266 - Ly Sas

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Ly Sas. The Prague-based DJ/producer is originally from Tbilisi, Georgia and cut her teeth in music from an early age as a guitarist and songwriter for various rock and metal bands. She then began listening to electronic music records coming from Detroit and Berlin which inspired her to start producing and performing. Her sound draws from underground and industrial techno but pulls ambient and dark textures into its orbit too. She has released on labels like Variance, Republic Artists and 951beat and also plays an important role in ONYX (Prague) along with arnii and Fractions. We’ve been a big fan of Ly Sas for some time and thrilled to host this killer set traversing EBM, techno and beyond.
