Offermose - Sjælens Ruin *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is proud to premiere a new music video from Offermose. The Danish artist returns for his sophomore LP, Stilhedens Tårn, which is the powerful follow up to 2018’s debut album Mørkt Forår (2018, Third Coming, Pomperipossa). Today we present “Sjælens Ruin”, a looming work of dungeon wave and dark ambient synth abstractions which is as menacing as it is poetic. The video, created by Last Oblivion, is an aerial and dreamy descent reminiscent of the best work of the Berlin School.

Stilhedens Tårn looks to be one of the most anticipated releases this fall and it will be out on limied black and blue “Galaxy” vinyl, black vinyl, CD and digital October 16, 2020. Pre-order yours now from Bandcamp through Third Coming and Pomperipossa.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Ingen - Bark Of Dog (Prospekt)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Ingen. “Bark Of Dog” comes off the new EP, Syrup Plate, which also launches the Cork, Ireland based label Prospekt. The techno collective has become known for their dedication to full throttle music production, parties and more and this EP captures their ethos perfectly. From the relentless punching of the title track to the churning, industrialized force of “Bark Of Dog” this is a stellar first release which also contains remixes by Joe Farr and Ike Dusk. Prospekt smashes down the door with this one and we look forward to more from the collective.

Out August 7th on digital formats. Get yours now on Bandcamp.

New Brvtalism No. 240 - Red Nailmaker

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Red Nailmaker. The anonymous post-industrial project derives its name from St.Petersburg's steel-rolling factory, a monument of 1930’s constructivism. Following the ethos of the art movement, Red Nailmaker delivers a raw, abstract and mechanical sound. Pushing through a boiling brew of techno, EBM, industrial, rhythmic noise and dub. New Brvtalism No. 240 is an exceptional mix of some of our favorite concepts, themes and sounds.

End Train vs. Flaminia - Sense Withdrawals (6SISS Remix)(Metempsychosis)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from End Train vs. Flaminia. The Londoners return to Metempsychosis for a new release titled Full Swap, a joint effort between Flaminia, End Train and Tapefeed with remixes from Swarm Intelligence, EOMAC and 6SISS. Today we present “Sense Withdrawals (6SISS Remix)” which puts a more menacing twist on the original and adds a seething industrial atmosphere. The rest of the release finds the trio in top form, playing off each other’s strengths and the Full Swap title couldn’t be more appropriate as we see the artists mixing and matching to create an exceptional release that covers a wide array of sounds that work on many different levels.

Out July 30th on digital formats. Pick yours up now on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Stave - Dead End (Voidance)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Stave. “Dead End” is the Chicago artist’s contribution to the powerful new v/a compilation, Travels To Sadness, Hate and Depression Vol. 2 (Voidance). The release follows up last year’s compilation and continues to expand on the label’s universe of sound which includes noisy landscapes, abstract techno/industrial and ambient compositions. Today’s premiere sees a Brvtalist favorite in top form with a heavy industrialized piece which shreds all in its path. The release also features great music by Nigh/T\Mare, Samot, Clarence Park and more.

Travels To Sadness, Hate and Depression Vol. 2 is on August 24th on limited tape and digital. Pick up yours on Bandcamp.

Meroitic - Every (Fallen Moon Recordings) *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Meroitic. “Every” is a track off the recently released EP, jovilabe, out on Fallen Moon Recordings. The alias of Jamondria Harris, an interdisciplinary artist and composer living in Portland, OR, their work uses words, sounds, wires, instruments, textiles & what falls into their hands to engage with blackness, desire, spirit/source, decolonization, fairy tales, & embodiment. Their sound art emerges from deep-listening fluidity between rhythm & source, engendering sonic cartographies woven from samples, feedback, the electromagnetic field of bodies & rooms and both digital and analog synthesizer soundscapes.

The video was created by musician, sound designer, and curator Patricia Wolf and takes us on a fascinating visual journey through abstract forms and transformative states. It is the perfect accompaniment to Meroitic’s hypnotic, ritual-like sound which exudes a quietly powerful message and creates an encapsulating atmosphere. Pick up jovilabe now on Bandcamp.

In addition, as this work features two Portland-based artists, we would like to stand in solidarity with all of those protesting police brutality, racism and hatred of any kind. With Patricia’s help we also updated our Social Justice Resources page to include non-profit links and information for those who want to engage or help more directly in Portland.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Halv Drøm - Psyops (Fleisch)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Halv Drøm. The Berlin-based artist and Fleisch co-founder is back on his resident label with a debut LP titled Slum Vatic. Not constrained to any genres but still operating in a dance floor-driven universe, Halv Drøm takes on industrial, body and more all awash in a dystopian haze of post-punk guitars and field recordings from the beyond. Today we present, “Psyops”, which is probably my favorite track on the release and leaves you with a bitter sweet sense of nostalgia but with a strong desire to want more. Ultimately, Slum Vatic represents some of the artist’s best work to date.

Out August 31st, 2020 on 12” and digital. Pre-order yours now on Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Militiā - Heaven in Hell (SXCALA)

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new track from Militiā. “Heaven In Hell” is a full techno assault, which comes off the new EP, Demand For Pleasure, out today on SXCALA. For this one, the UK project delivers five tracks of pummeling industrial, seething techno and even some broken beat for another excellent EP. “Heaven In Hell” is an aggressive menacing work with a crushing sound and evil vocals which elevates the work to new levels of sinister. Militiā has become a favorite project as of late and hits all the right notes of genre bending, socio-political infused chaos.

Pick this one up today on digital formats HERE.

New Brvtalism No. 239 - Hexual Sarassment

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Hexual Sarassment. The project of Oguz Gulcenbay, better known as DJ and producer OGUZ, and Jasper Seidel, an artist who broadly experiments with all kinds of musical techniques, they both didn’t want to produce hard rave/trance music that is just for making you sweat. The duo seeks to play on your feelings, stand for a movement and bring music with a story and a real sound - hard metal infused industrial techno that is not about negativity. They focus on delivering a positive message against a society driven by toxic masculinity and speak up to a world in social decay.

New Brvtalism No. 239 shows the full power of Hexual Sarassment. Erupting from industrial, metal, techno and more, this is a truly punishing set from one of our favorite projects right now. Stay tuned for more from these guys on Brvtalist Sound Recordings later this year.

Atrium Carceri - A Curved Blade + Black Flag - Let Your Fingers Do The Walking
