Rebel Yell - Pump *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Rebel Yell. “Pump” ft. Marcus Whale is off the artist’s new album, Fall From Grace, out July 10th on Rice Is Nice. This is Australian artist Grace Stevenson’s sophomore LP and we’ve been enjoying her vision of anti-club, club music since first hearing the album. Made up of 11 pulse pounding and dance floor ready tracks, Stevenson tackles her own vulnerabilities and sets hard grooves to soft themes for a fresh sound that defies techno genres. “Pump” is one of our favorite tracks on the album and the DIY video is a crisp, infectious anthem for summer.

Fall From Grace is out tomorrow and has quickly become one of our favorite releases this season. You can get yours + some great merch now on Bandcamp.

Window - The Cage *Official Video*

The Brvtalist is pleased to present a new video from Window. One of our favorite projects right now, the duo of Dylan Travis (Some Ember) and Reuben Sawyer, the two have been working together since 2014 and have previously released on Fallow Field, Total Black and most recently on Third Coming. “The Cage” sees the duo in full visual and sonic force, with their unique heavy, splintered sound and hostile vocals. Anti-police music for modern times. Pick up their latest release, Endless Cycle, out now on Third Coming Records.

Espectra Negra - The Passion Of Love (Witches Are Back)

We are pleased to present a new track from Espectra Negra. “The Passion Of Love” comes off the new compilation, Red Shadows (Witches Are Back) and all proceeds will support the “Nessuna da sola - sostieni le sexworker” campaign which gives assistance to sex workers in Italy during the Covid-19 emergency. In Italy, many "non conventional" jobs have no real income (mostly “black money”) and those who work in these jobs are essentially invisible to the Italian government so there is no access to any kind of social assistance benefits. For sex workers already living in precarious and difficult conditions, this has become a real humanitarian crisis. Organized and promoted by the trans-feminist collective Ombre Rosse and a wide network of pro-sex workers associations the campaign seeks to support those in need.

Consisting of 13 tracks, Red Shadows covers the Witches Are Back sound - from industrial to noise, techno to acid-house. Today we premiere “The Passion Of Love” by Espectra Negra which showcases her raw, powerful electronics sound. The compilation is out July 10th and you can support on Bandcamp.

Hystérie - Protéger et Servir (Area Z) *Video Premiere*

Area Z presents a new video from Hystérie by visual artist Chloé Burkiewicz. She returns for a second collaboration with the collective after her work for The Undertaker’s Tapes on Lieder and now creates an image to the EP’s opening track “Protéger et Servir”.

Literally meaning “Protect and Serve” in French, the synth-punk trio offers a track born from a reflection after a terrorist attack at a concert in Paris in 2016. They came to discover the overwhelming presence of military force and armed police in airports and all over the streets. As a result from this period, a general feeling of anxiety and paranoia slowly settled, disguised in the form of "global protection", in which anyone could be the next enemy.

The band mentions the fact that today, French society remains more fractured than ever and that police violence is occurring more and more clearly and is spreading rapidly. Maintaining order becomes an excuse for the state to apply brutal repression and remaining silent would make us accomplices of the current events.

The video was commissioned during the lockdown and the artist ironically highlighted the dichotomy between police and medical services, both which operate for protecting and serving purposes. While suffering from the both sides, healthcare workers have been protesting AND working tirelessly for the past months for better working conditions and were often victims of police violence during their protests.

With respect to the recent events that have shaken our society and in solidarity to the Black Lives Matter movement, all the digital sales of Hystérie will be donated to ActBlue in the fight against racism and other Police Brutality Funds for the next two weeks starting from today.

Purgate - Suture (Aufnahme + Wiedergabe) *Video Premiere*

The Brvtalist is pleased to present the music video premiere of “Suture” by Purgate. The solo project of Frederic Arbour (1/2 of Industrial Techno duo Stärker, Visions), the artist crafts deep ambient atmospherics, exploring purely analog circuitry through dense layers of treated modular systems and sparse, pulsing rhythmic structures. “Suture” comes off the new Elemental 12” (Aufnahme + Wiedergabe), a collection of six sonic compositions which pervade the sense and disorient the mind. The video is created by longtime friend and experimental filmmaker Karl Lemieux (Live film projectionist for God Speed You Black Emperor), keeping a focus on all analog mediums with live projections of abstract layers of decomposed 16mm film experiments.

Elemental is out July 3rd on Aufnahme + Wiedergabe. Get yours on Bandcamp.

As a bonus we are also including the new podcast by Purgate which you can listen to below.

The EP contains two originals and two remixes from heavyweights Crystal Geometry and Aneed. “Don’t Buy Your Hype” is a moody, electrifying work of acid synth-lines and melodies which leaves the listener in a hypnotic state.
