The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Corroid. Based in Karlsruhe, Germany, the solo techno project has been unleashing some of our favorite material since 2018. Rough synthesizers, driving rhythms and harsh hi hats shape the artist's sound. With releases on Kaputt, User Experience (UK) and Grounded Corroid is just getting started. New Brvtalism No. 222 is an absolutely crushing set which gives you a look inside the world of Corroid.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Morah - Under The Drain (Phormix)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a track from Morah. "Under The Drain" comes off the artist's forthcoming release, Mental Agitation, a collection of works created between 2013-2019. Consisting of 16 tracks and clocking in at 90 minutes long, the album is limited to 50 printed black cassettes, including a booklet of 16 pages to 20 copies. The artist takes a left field experimental attitude and emits a surge of musical narrative, tainting the walls of grey matter with a tendency of unpredictability. The album delivers elements of post industrial, doom, noise, lo-fi aesthetic, fat triggering beats, and melodic catches performed with futuristic vocals to leave you inside an obscure landscape while at the same time delivering a sort of enchantment that leads you to the unknown. Darkened and resonating through barren corridors the tape reports the creativity that can only be derived from a so called type of insanity. Today we lead with, “Under The Drain”, giving you a taste of the chaos, destruction and magic that Morah has become renown for.

Out March 27th on limited cassette w/booklet + digital on Phormix. Get yours at: https://phormixrecords.bandcamp.com/album/morah-mental-agitation-compiled-works-2013-2019

The Brvtalist Premieres: Taken Name - "Step Out" (Haven)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Taken Name. The mystery duo contributes a massive work for the fourth entry of Haven’s White Label Series, a v/a titled Sardonic Tonality Vol. 2. Bass-heavy production and sinister atmospheres makes “Step Out” a floor crushing track which is already getting heavy rotation at Brvtalist HQ. The release also features Copenhagen resident and TRTLNCK co-founder Riesenfeld, the always slamming Ryan James Ford and a creepy, drugged out banger from US producer Julien Andreas. We’ve been fans of Haven since its inception and this raw, diverse and all around bangin’ release is a good reason why.

Out April 17th on 12” vinyl and digital. Get yours on Haven’s Bandcamp.

The track is part of a V/A compilation from the label titled, From Our Future Selves, which features 11 different artists such as Zagam, Nina Pixel, Diasiva, Forest People, cplt and many more.  The 12 track project is the label’s first various artist compilation and it was put together with all proceeds going to support Friends of the Earth - an organization aimed at challenging the current model of economic and corporate globalization, while promoting solutions that help to create environmentally sustainable and socially just societies.

“In the years of salt lands” kicks off with cold industrial beats, accompanied by repetitive metallic frictions creating an oppressing atmosphere. The second part of the track explores a more rhythmical aspect of techno with slight break beats thus delivering a nearly tribal effect.

The Brvtalist Premieres: HARTBRAND - "Brunst" (Safeword Records)

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new single and video from HARTBRAND. The Berlin-based modular performer and industrial techno craftsman spearheads the newly launched Safeword Records imprint with a dark and driving release entitled Brunst. Today we share the video for the title track and it’s a cinematic work of raw, unsettling imagery and motion. “Brunst” encapsulates the music’s socio-political undertones with grainy images and harsh noises creating a sense of foreboding and yet it’s extremely rewarding to watch and get sucked in to its world.

From the artist:

It's about the struggle of one's inner artist fighting against fear and overcoming the point of doubt in what one is creating. Brunst is the birth of my voice as Hartbrand. The woman in white is Desire. The woman in black is Trauma. There is tension. Desire can only create something new (the plant) once it becomes one with Trauma. The location is one's inner self where the fight takes place.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Gesaffelstein, Daniel Avery and Black Asteroid, HARTBRAND fuels his production by creating soundscapes that reflect the feeling of a divided society and uniformed workers in the digital age of capitalism. Now, Hartbrand brings his energy-heavy and dark beats to Safeword Records with four immensely emotive and challenging music videos, resonating with the label's intent to communicate thought-provoking messages through sound. From the full frontal synth stabs of “Brunst” to the thunder-like sub-frequencies of “Utopia”, this is four tracks of powerful, engulfing techno and a strong way to launch the new impring.

Out April 24th on vinyl and digital. For more information and to get yours visit: https://smarturl.it/vyzcx3
