New Brvtalism No. 213 - Amanda Mussi

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Amanda Mussi. The Brazilian-born artist has emerged as of the most exciting DJs on the international circuit, playing parties from the Americas to Europe and beyond. Her mix for New Brvtalism is a pulse-pounding showcase of her high energy sound, infusing both modern and classic techno into something all her own.

This also comes on the heels of her debut release, a split with fellow Brazilian and Berlin-based, The Lady Machine, out now on Unterwegs. The record contains four tracks (two from each producer) of scorching techno floor destroyers that are perfect for the dark, sweaty clubs the two have become known for playing. Pick this up now on Bandcamp.

Tears For Fears Vol. 2 (Soil Records)

The Brvtalist is proud to present music off the new double cassette release, Tears for Fears Vol. 2, a massive V/A compilation from Soil Records. The evolution of Soil is based mainly on a clear industrial line, in a style which SOJ has been polishing as an artist and as well as being responsible for the platform itself. The label has evolved in other facets such as integration of renowned artists in its catalog - marked with both cassette and vinyl releases as well as digital. In June 2018, Soil released Tears For Fears Vol. 1 and now a year and a half later comes the massive follow up- a second part with 35 tracks and the current projection of the label. Tears For Fears Vol. 2 is a great showcase for artists and projects with consolidated trajectories, although some of them may seem more discreet with great variety of sub genres and interpretations.

To celebrate the release (which is out today!) we are featuring 3 tracks from the compilation - each a bit different but all represent what the label and comp is all about. The first is the ominous techno slayer, “Justice” from Argentinian producer and DJ, Distant. Next is the haunting nostalgia and devastating synths of Colombia’s Filmmaker and the third is a crushing electro-body work from the always great Raw Ambassador. The compilation also includes music from Adriana Petit, Bad Faith Actor, Unhealed, Nocturnerror, Unnaturalism and much more.

Pick this one up in double cassette format or on digital now on Bandcamp.

V Stók & Nicola Serra - "Static Transmission" Video Premiere

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from V Stók & Nicola Serra. A collaborative track between Sofia-born, Bristol-based artist V Stók and Dronica Festival founder Nicola Serra, "Static Transmission" fuses both of the artists' approach to contemporary electronics while creating something outside their usual comfort. The track is part of a new V/A compilation, Vanishing Standards, out now on Bulgarian imprint Amek. The compilation shares the same aim, where the label sought to extend beyond any usual boundaries and collaborate with like minded artists across the experimental, ambient dub and harsh drone spectrums. “Static Transmission” is a great extract from the release, and represents an ominous mental trip with hypnotizing visuals by Scual.

Vanishing Standards is out today and you can pick up there compilation on Bandcamp.

DSTM - AW 2019

Longtime Brvtalist favorite DSTM returns with another striking new collection and campaign for the 2019 autumn/winter season. The Berlin-based bodywear, loungewear and lingerie brand has consistently been at the forefront of cutting edge design, sustainable manufacturing and has provided some of the best editorial shoots of recent memory. 2019 is no different and we are thrilled to present these new photos which capture the ever evolving concepts of the brand as well as their surrealist nature and fascination with body shapes, space and more.

We were so taken with these images and we had to have them on the site and we were also to speak with photographer Ana Hell about the shoot and her style. (see below)

The Brvtalist: Tell us about the concept/idea behind the shoot?

Ana Hell: I mostly shoot very spontaneously without planning each shot in advance. Once I see the space, the garments and the models then I can start to compose an image. In this shooting for DSTM I tried to create something dreamy and magical with a little bit of mystery.

The Brvtalsit: Your work always has a surrealist feel with extra limbs and photos that can deceive the eye. Tell us more about your style.

Ana Hell: I like to think of each image as a small story or a painting that twists reality and makes you look twice.

These pieces are available now on the DSTM e-boutique or in person at the Berlin shop. Shop and read more about the brand at: https://www.dstm.co/

As always, we can’t wait to see what’s next. Follow DSTM on Instagram to stay up to date: https://www.instagram.com/dstm_
