DSTM - AW 2019

Longtime Brvtalist favorite DSTM returns with another striking new collection and campaign for the 2019 autumn/winter season. The Berlin-based bodywear, loungewear and lingerie brand has consistently been at the forefront of cutting edge design, sustainable manufacturing and has provided some of the best editorial shoots of recent memory. 2019 is no different and we are thrilled to present these new photos which capture the ever evolving concepts of the brand as well as their surrealist nature and fascination with body shapes, space and more.

We were so taken with these images and we had to have them on the site and we were also to speak with photographer Ana Hell about the shoot and her style. (see below)

The Brvtalist: Tell us about the concept/idea behind the shoot?

Ana Hell: I mostly shoot very spontaneously without planning each shot in advance. Once I see the space, the garments and the models then I can start to compose an image. In this shooting for DSTM I tried to create something dreamy and magical with a little bit of mystery.

The Brvtalsit: Your work always has a surrealist feel with extra limbs and photos that can deceive the eye. Tell us more about your style.

Ana Hell: I like to think of each image as a small story or a painting that twists reality and makes you look twice.

These pieces are available now on the DSTM e-boutique or in person at the Berlin shop. Shop and read more about the brand at: https://www.dstm.co/

As always, we can’t wait to see what’s next. Follow DSTM on Instagram to stay up to date: https://www.instagram.com/dstm_

T-error 404 - Ritual of Time + New Releases on Area Z

Since 2006, T-error 404, the project of Moscow’s Владимир Черепанов has been releasing some of the most brvtally infectious tracks across the industrial, techno, EBM and rhythmic noise spectrums. With releases on labels like Khemia, X-img and Tripalium Corp, the artist arrives now on multi-disciplinary label Area Z with one of his most powerful EPs to date. Ritual of Time is 5 tracks of crushing sounds made up of industralized techno, EBM and even traces of mutant trance. With a menacing feel and dance floor shredding components, the release sanctifies the artist’s place as one of the most versatile producers working around the genres.

Out today (16/12) on Area Z. Pick up the release here and listen below.

The Undertaker’s Tapes - On The Last Day

Today we also shed some light on a couple of other brand new releases on Area Z. On The Last Day by The Undertaker’s Tapes is an EP of ritual electronics fueled by haunting down tempo techno and massive industrial grooves. The vocals also seep into your core and linger for days after. This one has been on rotation with us for a minute now. Pick up it here and listen below.

Chrome Corpse - Anything That Moves

Moving from sacred sounds to cyber terror and body horror, Chrome Corpse unleashes a militaristic assault with Anything That Moves. The tapes minimal, frigid vibes create a certain nostalgia of 80’s genre classics but Chrome Corpse undeniably is aimed at the present and future - crafting an LP which builds off the tension of modern warfare and a planet on the brink of collapse. Out now.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Auspex - "Imminent Domain"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Auspex. A longtime fixture of New York’s underground techno and vibrant queer nightlife community, the DJ and producer has become known for his raucous sets and I have always been a fan of his dance floor destroying productions. “Imminent Domain” comes off the forthcoming Suspicion EP, a 5 track work which also launches the Brooklyn-based OATH imprint, a label which aims for the fusion of modern technology and arcane ritual. Inspired by a concept of dystopic secret society, OATH represents the paths we choose and the vows we keep. Suspicion is ominous ritual techno which will lure you in to its hypnotizing, sacred world.
