The Brvtalist Premieres: Mercury 200 - "Your Favorite Dystopia"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Mercury 200. Since emerging from the shadows last year, the anonymous production duo and live act has been destroying speakers, headphones and dance floors with their terrorizing cosmic sound. Following their debut single on Berlin’s Ismus, the pair unleash their latest EP, Fundamental Relationship, on Geneva’s Bipolar Disorder.

Today we feature the high octane, frenzied work of “Your Favorite Dystopia”, one of our favorite cuts from the EP. The release contains another original work and two stellar remixes from Umwelt and UVB. We don’t know who these guys are but we do know we can’t wait for more productions. Out November 29th on vinyl and digital. Pre-order this one now from Bipolar Disorder HERE.

Lunacy - Age of Truth (Full Album Stream)

The Brvtalist is pleased to present an exclusive full album stream of the new release by Pennsylvania’s Lunacy. Since 2016, the artist has released a variety of music including 4 EPs and a compilation LP. However, Age of Truth represents his debut album and much like previous work, it is a powerful statement of ritual electronics, analog compositions and psychedelic experiences. Thematically, the album looks at the damage mankind is responsible for in the world around us and the mood reflects the guilt we all must carry.

Whether it be noise, shoegaze or hints of post-punk, Lunacy has crafted a diverse debut full length which blurs the genres lines and thrusts the listener into something both beautiful and heinous. Recommended for fans across the power electronics, industrial and punk genres.

Out November 22nd digital and 12” on the great Parisian label Third Coming Records. For more and to order visit: https://lunacy.bandcamp.com/album/age-of-truth-lp

The Brvtalist Premieres: Stanislav Tolkachev - "Acropolis 01"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Stanislav Tolkachev. “Acropolis 01” is a masterful work which comes off the forthcoming Acropolis EP, the first vinyl release from 24H, the in-house label of Milan’s Tempio Del Futuro Perduto (Temple of the Lost Future). Founded by artist and Temple resident Alessandro Vaccari (aka Marthial), the concept of the imprint is to invite emerging and established artists to reside within the Temple studio and dormitory spaces and craft a release within 24 hours time.

The result of Tolkachev’s efforts are two powerful, layered tracks which reflect on his past, musical inspirations and shatter boundaries with its destabilizing, hypnotic narratives. Label founder Marthial also provides a strong remix adding his own rhythmic interpretation. I was instantly drawn to the label’s stimulating mission and its objective will no doubt be a powerful tool in creating a lasting networking between artists, creators and listeners alike.

Acropolis EP is out on 12” vinyl and digital formats on November 15th. For more and to order the record visit Bandcamp.

New Brvtalism No. 204 - Sariim

The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Sariim. The Moscow-based artist delivers a heavy, infectious set of sounds from across the electronic spectrum. Perfect for your Samhain, Day of the Dead or other ritual listening. Sariim is also involved in the groundbreaking Moscow event series Temple of Joy and we were able to ask him a few questions about his background, the event and more. (see below)

The Brvtalist: Tell us about the background of the Sariim project.

Sariim: Sariim and Temple of Joy began four years ago. These are all part of one story which started in November 2015. My main passion and inspiration were Bunker label parties, with lots of smoke, minimal light and viscous, paralyzing music. Nothing original but at that moment, Moscow lacked parties such as this. Then and now I occasionally play in bands - mostly metallized hardcore and noise punk. It's the music of my roots. I cut my first mohawk at 11 so this is a long relationship with this kind of subculture and vision. Tired of which, at some point I discovered the Belgian new beat and EBM from the 80's. They probably also had a great influence on the early Joy and my musical selections as Sariim.

TB: Talk about the evolution of Joy.

S: Over time we grew from parties in a basement for 200 septic kids to opening our own club called Rabitza. It was a short 13 months of magic existence, being a collective which can easily be described as a psychedelic commune. Having opened in July 2016 we were brutally closed by the police in August 2017 because places with such a level of freedom in today's Russia simply cannot live longer.

All this time the Temple of Joy grew and grew and by the end of 2017 we turned into a small regular festival with three stages, and the participation of 20-30 artists and 1000 visitors.

This is how we approach our next chapter, the twenty-third in the history of Joy, which will be our fourth birthday and your Moscow debut.

TB: What's coming up next?

S: For the birthday we are preparing special merch. Like before, we will have t-shirts with a crucified penis and a special cassette release with the music of our close friends and residents of the Temple. Year later we now delve into our original search for extreme musical forms and psychological traps. The consciousness inside the Temple of Joy is in constant search and experience, although there is no doubt that as in the past to this very day, for me and for Joy, our two main words are Will and Love.

Thank you to Sariim. For more visit: https://soundcloud.com/sariim
