The Brvtalist Premieres: Kalter Ende - "Pressure Clamp" + Q&A

Kalter Ende’s Concerns Music is one of your Spanish go-to labels for all things dark. From experimental to techno, industrial and beyond, the imprint has been releasing some of the most exciting material around. April 20th sees them releasing their first full length, Pleasure Instruments, which is a compilation gathering the work of artists such as Developer, Christian Wünsch, Stanislav Tolkachev and more. With these names you're guaranteed an eclectic mix of both established talent as well as some producers you might want to keep your eyes on in the future.

Today we’re premiering the track “Pressure Clamp”, label head  Kalter Ende's own contribution to the release and a punishing dance-floor ready pleasure instrument which will transport you immediately to the murky, dark corners of the clubs, where the track is perhaps at its best.

In addition, we also caught up with Kalter Ende to find out about what drove him to release this compilation and more (Q&A below).

The Brvtalist: The compilation seems to be very eclectic. How did it all come together?

Kalter Ende: Well it came together after sitting down with Manu (Unkle Fon), who is a great friend, and we were talking about Concerns Music and what to do in the next release. We thought that after all I have published on the label, a V.A. comp was a good option.

All of the artists who participated in Pleasure Instruments are artists whom I've been following for a long time and I'm a fan of. For some, it was our first time working together and with others, we've done projects before.

TB: As the head of the label, how much did you feel you need to be in control of how the sound of each track evolved and how much freedom did the artists have?

KE: I don't like to get involved or influence the tracks that the artists are going to do for Concerns Music because I normally know their work and this case was not going to be different.

All of the artists had total liberty to make their tracks and I think that's why it’s so diverse and exciting. Of course I selected the final tracks for the record and we even had a few options to choose from with some of the artists.

TB: Today we're premiering Pressure Clamp, your own contribution to the compilation. What inspired you to write this track?

KE: I really don't know what to say about what inspired me to make this track, but as it's a very hypnotic, strong and club made track, I think it was my physical and rough side which as a clubber it's what mostly excites me.

Rebekah - "Waiting For You" Video Premiere

The Brvtalist is pleased to present the music video premiere of "Waiting For You" by Rebekah. This massive track comes off the Birmingham-born, Berlin-based artist's new double EP, My Heart Bleeds Black, out April 13th on Rotterdam's MORD. The video is a powerful, ritualistic exhibition that perfectly accompanies the track's punishing energy.

2017's smash LP on Soma Records titled Fear Paralysis, was a crushing full length that along with the remixes, were some of our favorite tracks of the past year. Fans of Rebekah's previous work will be thrilled with My Heart Bleeds Black. The artist continues her evolution with even more complex sonic works which strike some of the deepest, darkest corners of the mind. In addition to "Waiting For You", we also love the pulverizing percussion of "Halo Effect" and the nerve splitting emotion of "End of Trauma". Definitely pick this one up on vinyl and digital on April 13th. For more visit MORD.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Kontravoid. "Hold Nothing" comes off the Toronto-based artist's upcoming EP, Undone, out April 16th on Fleisch. The project's debut, self-titled album has been an enduring favorite of mutant EBM electronics and we could not be more thrilled for this release. As expected, Kontravoid returns with an even more sinister edge and frigid Cold War stylings. Includes four stellar tracks plus a huge remix by Schwefelgelb. Pre-order now at Bandcamp.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Fallbeil - "Iron Lungs"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Fallbeil. The German project has been one of our favorites of recent memory and "Iron Lungs" gives us even more to savor. Off the forthcoming split EP, Acid Avengers 007 (Tripalium Corp), the track's metal melting acid oozes slowly through the speakers and ultimately burns deep into your psyche. The duo also contributes "Drinkin Petroleum", while the mighty Drvg Cvlture takes over the other side with two more massive cuts. We love seeing both of these artists on acid and this is definitely one to pick up. Out April 20th. Visit Tripalium Corp for more.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Celldöd - "Dansar (Inte För Dig)"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Celldöd. "Dansar (Inte För Dig)" is a rumbling body-mover off the Swedish artist's forthcoming release, Fragmenterade Minnen (DKA). The solo project of Anders Karllson, he has been active in various punk and electronic outfits since the late 90's. However, the past few years have seen his Celldöd moniker flourish. Releasing maniacal, industrial technoid thrillers on labels like Suction Records, Vargdöd (imprint with Varg) and more.

Fragmenterade Minnen is the artist's second full length LP and first for DKA. The result is a complete package of machine mayhem. From body music through industrial and technoid destruction, this one will rip through the speakers and dance floor. Out April 13, 2018. Pre-order now through DKA.
