Video Premiere: Outlaw Compound - "Absalon Girl"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a video work from Outlaw Compound. The new A/V project from visual artist Olga Fedorova and musician Yannick Franck, the ethos is inspired by tiki culture, exotica, magick and other modern escapist tendencies. In a haunting fashion, Outlaw Compound manifests a new, industrialized world with visions of a lost paradise. This hypnotic visual piece is for the track, "Absalon Girl", which comes off their first cassette and digital release, New Primitive, out now on British-French label ZamZamRec. The Brvtalist Premieres: DiNT - "Skewer Shovel (Codex Empire Remix)"

Horo is a label that knows how to push the envelope when it comes to forward thinking electronic music, and today we’re premiering a track from DiNT’s latest release, Hooker Remixed.

Codex Empire’s take on “Skewer Shovel” is a track which takes the screeching sounds and harrowing repetitive vocals from “Shovel” and combines them with the infectious rhythms of “Skewer”, all the while the experimental touch of Codex Empire guides us and transforms a challenging track into a slamming dance floor ready favorite.

Here is what DiNT told us about the collaboration with Codex Empire:

DiNT DJ sets have been full of Codex Empire tracks, so Mark was first on our list of remixers for the Hooker EP. Instead of picking one track to remix, he worked elements of 2 tracks together to our delight. The results are exactly what we hoped for, like a looping nightmare with enormous kick drums. Hearing this played by Pact Infernal at Berghain was a satisfying moment. We thank Mark for his reinterpretation.

Hooker and Hooker Remixed EPs will go out on Horo on March 9th featuring some amazing artwork designed by Thomas Martin Ekelund (Trepaneringsritualen).

Selections from London and Milan

The fashion week calendar is perhaps the most punishing on the globe and the Autumn/Winter shows in London and Milan are the latest to showcase what we'll be wearing next. Starting in London, there is always a mix of British heritage, punk rock and the avant-garde. I suppose we have a little of each today with a striking, architectural collection from Chalayan, haunting, dark replicants from Gareth Pugh and the queen, Pam Hogg, is still show us how it's done.

MILAN

This week in Milan has seen some real media favorites with the big fashion houses staging some epic productions. Milan always offers an interesting grab bag of Italian glamour with nightclub looks and some weird mixed in. Not quite the sophistication of Paris but I'm always surprised by something. While we don't normally like to feature the mega-brands, those really stuck out this week with nice presentations from Versace, Prada and ok fine, we will include the Gucci heads, which were six months in the making.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Max Durante - "EX- PO6" (w/Retina.it)

We are pleased to premiere a new track from Max Durante. "EX-PO6" (with Retina.it), comes off the artist's first full length release, The Experiment, out this month on Kynant Records. For Durante, this 2xLP comes after a prolific 30 year career, beginning as an early innovator of the rave scene in Rome to producing techno, IDM, electro and industrial. After releasing some classic singles and EPs on labels like Sonic Groove and Kynant, The Experiment shows Durante's wide-ranging skill and technique. From the ambient explorations of EX-PO1 to the drilling, techno mutations of our track today and another killer with fellow Italian Fabrizio D'arcangelo.

With its dark undertones and subversive moods, this is a stellar first full length with an immense energy and impressive breadth of sounds. For more visit: http://kynantrecords.com/
