Mas - La Compagnie des Martyrs

The Brvtalist is pleased to present a new release from Parisian duo, Mas. Theo Fernandez and Samantha Corti bring us a beautiful new work that lies at the intersection of sound, visuals and poetry. La Compagnie des Martyrs is a 16 minutes radio piece which was cut into five sections for the release on Champ Libre. It is a play that was built mainly from vocal matter (voices, whispers, sighs, singings etc.) and sound recordings made in the French countryside. "Le cadavre exquis" is the first part of the piece and we are honored to present the accompanying video.

From the artist:

The society is approaching. After this beautiful prayer, what was to happen? In the middle of the world, a certain terror. A graceful affront which would leave traces for the rest of their poor lives. They are coming back.

A grim story. Written by Mas. Dedicated to Champ Libre.

Out June 26th on cassette and digital formats on Champ Libre. Pre-Order available now.

Swarm Intelligence - "Scarper" Video Premiere

The Brvtalist is pleased to present the music video premiere of "Scarper" by Swarm Intelligence. The track comes off the artist's recent release, Home Recordings, out now on the one and only Instruments of Discipline. With an assaulting blend of rhythmic noise and splintered sonic abstractions, "Scarper" is perfect primer to the record's vast audio experience. The visuals are by Brvtalist favorite X-IMG and transport the viewer into a twisted world of torture and mutation.

To help mark the record's release, Instrument of Discipline is staging an incredible live showcase event in Berlin on May 27th at Acud Macht Neu. The stage will play host to performances by Swarm Intelligence, Homoagent, Orphan Swords and Alchemic Harm. With Philipp Strobel, Agency and Luna Violenta as DJs, do not miss this night.

The Brvtalist Premieres: Le Matin - "Aligateau"

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from French producer Le Matin. "Aligateau" is an acid-electro masterpiece which comes off the new compilation, Acid Froggies, out on Brvtalist favorite Tripalium Corp. We were quickly infected with the track's filthy acid grooves and haunting electro rhythms, having it on repeat since we first heard it.

Acid Froggies is a killer comp which features 23 tracks from different French producers, all operating in the country's vibrant acid scene. From techno to jungle, electro to braindance, there is something on this comp for everyone and it's a great survey of what's happening with this amazing sound. Other favorite selections are those by Automat, Acid Fortwins, Society of Silence and Mono-Enzyme 307.  Definitely pick this one up here.

Skin Of Their Light - Spes Aeterna

The Brvtalist is pleased to present a new compilation on Berlin's Instruments of Discipline. Spes Aeterna is a powerful release that compiles seven sonic representations of the video art of Diane Drubay. The French-born, Berlin-based video artist investigates the psychoactive and transcendental experience, expanding the idea of sublime with images of Nature. Skin Of Their Light represents a thin, illuminated border - between two worlds that is both hypnotic and unsettling.

Spes Aeterna brings together artists from the United States, Australia and Sweden to both collaborate and interpret Drubay's mystifying works. These are deep, droning experimental compositions that transport the listener into a blissful, otherworldly realm . The compilation should be listened to facing the video pieces to dive into an introspective state and reach higher consciousness. A beautiful alchemy of color, texture, sound and image makes for one of the most unique and stimulating releases of the year.

To coincide with the release on May 5th, Instruments of Discipline will present a free, outdoor live event at the Urban Spree Beergarten featuring a 45min video art screening by Diane Drubay and live performances by Zanias and Halv Drøm. This show is powered by Mobile Kino.

Following this event, inside Urban Spree, guests are fortunate enough to witness the Berlin debut of Australia's Armour Group and Military Position. The Brvtalist has been an avid follower of these Trapdoor Tapes conspirators and we are thrilled to see them playing in Europe. Supported by Iron Sight and Age Eternal, this is not one to miss.

Surviving in Europe

With world stability on the brink of collapse, these are without a doubt some of the most trying times in recent memory. Perhaps it is the perfect time for an infectious new compilation from Italy's She Lost Kontrol. The second release from this great new label,  Surviving in Europe brings together some of the best artists currently operating in the genres of wave, industrial, techno and experimental electronics. With filthy new material from Scapra, Huren, Unhuman and more, this is a limited cassette that acts as the soundtrack to our life. We love Prg/m & Bop's acidic body track, "Brain Chemistry" and the absolutely massive "How The Heart Turns to Dust" by Mind&Flesh. "In my City" by Warner Karloff and the punishing death industrial of "Il Canto della Resistenza" by Devastator Execution are other favorites but none of the 14 tracks on the tape should be missed.

From the label:

In a time of the new European nationalism, of razor-wire fences and renewed border Kontrols, mass immigration and homegrown terror, fear and insecurity,
the suppression of internal borders of the EU is recognition that all the citizens belong to the same space, that they share a common identity.
-NO BORDERS NO NATION NO FLAGS-
