The creative alter ego of Atlanta-based artist Matt Weiner releases his rendition of Chris Isaak’s 1989 track which forgets the epic slide guitar, speeds it up by about 10 bpm, and gives a whole new wave vibe to the 80s classic. The song has been in our heads ever since the first listen and the DIY video is just as mesmerizing. “Wicked Game” has been one of my favorite songs since I first saw the steamy music video on MTV as a young kid. I haven’t recorded any covers as TWINS but after doing a bunch of karaoke with friends over the past year or two I’ve started to think about certain songs in a way that inspired me to filter them through my own imagination.
