Eomac's latest album, Reconnect, released on his own imprint Eotrax earlier this year explores themes of self discovery, dehumanization, death and more. The music comes as a blend of old and new, inspired by ancient ecstatic dance and Haitian voodoo drumming, combined with modern elements of electronics, samples and analog instruments.
Building on the idea of a self discovery journey, the video for ‘Resist All Dogma’ which we are premiering today ahead of the Eotrax showcase at Krake Festival, comes as a personal statement and a journey that's yet to be complete that Eomac makes in relation with the toxic masculinity that causes so much damage around us. By shedding the layers of everything that society conditions us to believe and by looking inwards before making any judgements about others, we might be able to reconnect with our true self, through music, dance and art.
From the artist:
The video is taken from the new AV show for 'Reconnect', which like the album, deals with the idea of reconnecting. In particular these visuals are about reconnecting to who I am as a man while waking up to the toxic state of masculinity and all the damage and violence we as men (particularly white men), continue to cause and perpetrate. It's fucked up but it's unavoidable and must be faced. So this work it is quite a personal journey and a search around this topic, through reconnecting to self, truth, facing up to prejudices and the dark parts of myself that I'd rather avoid and resisting external conditioning.
Make sure to attend Krake Festival Day II for the world premiere of the ‘Reconnect’ AV show, with visuals by Sal Stapleton.
