Influenced by 80's synthpop, italo disco and the sound of Fad Gadget, D.A.F., Liaisons Dangereuses and Yazoo, Miss Kittin and The Hacker have always made music that strikes as bold, adventurous and timeless. Their upcoming release Lost Tracks Vol. 2 on Josh Cheon’s Dark Entries, gives us a glimpse into their beginnings. All 4 tracks are previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999, which have been transferred from the original DAT tapes, maintaining that slightly improvised feel.
Today we're premiering the first track off the EP, “Upstart”, a more upbeat, driving track which embodies the unmistakably energy of the French duo, while Miss Kittin’s wavering voice adds a certain sensuality to it in order to seduce and lure you into their cheeky world of drum-machines and electro beats.
“We were naive, innocent, adventurous and we didn’t expect anything in return”. (Miss Kittin)
‘Lost Tracks Vol. 2’ is out on June 25th on Dark Entries.
