The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new video from Aja Ireland. "Grind It Like" comes off the new EP, Moult Mouth, forthcoming on Infinite Machine. Exploring mutant femme energy, queer club culture, body autonomy and the liberating power of movement, the project draws from experimental bass, industrial techno, baile funk and granular, spatial sound design to challenge how femininity, sensuality and the body are framed within club spaces.
Today, we premiere the video for the track "Grind It Like", a track that celebrates movement as catharsis, body autonomy and collective empowerment. Filmed by Lex Wilson and edited by Aja, the video is set in an abandoned warehouse that acts as a metaphor for the internal safe space the track creates. It is a site for confronting and releasing tension, shedding old selves and moving freely without the male gaze shaping how bodies should behave.
Wearing a chain mail two piece by SKNDLSS, with organic metallic spikes, white lenses and extended talon nails, Aja embodies a powerful, monstrous feminine form. The visuals follow her dancing, pole climbing and unleashing energy across peeling walls, crumbling ceilings and growing mould formations. The space becomes both sanctuary and battleground, a place where sensuality belongs to the performer and to the community she invites in.
The track draws from queer club culture, ballroom references and grinding as ritual. It reframes sensual movement as an act of resilience, healing and release. Grind It Like offers a vision of dance floor liberation, encouraging others to move without apology, loosen inhibitions and claim their bodies on their own terms.
